It’s late November, and so begin the dark days of winter, at least here in Toronto. A busy fall meant my immune system took a bit of a beating, so I’m currently flat out on the couch. Hope you’re feeling better than I am!
On the fun side, I went to four book events. I love the opportunity to meet people and hear their stories. Then I submitted the draft of my upcoming YA novel, had final edits on the print version of Drop Dead, and the copy edits on my next rom-com, which is set in cottage country. Plus, I just started my novella for Audible. It’s Kit and Hana’s story, set at a Christmas wedding. It’s perfect to write at this time of year, and I’m excited for you to hear it.
I’m also trying a new newsletter provider, so if you have any issues, please email me at lily@lilychuauthor.com.
Some amazing news
Drop Dead was named one of Audible’s Top 20 Picks for Best of the Year for 2024, for the US, Canada, and Australia! And a Best of the Year Romance in the UK. This is such a huge thrill and truly, I was ecstatic knowing so many people are getting joy from Wes and Nadine’s story (and Dot and the cats). There are some incredible books on the list, and you can find it here.
Reader recs!
In October, I ran a giveaway and collected a long list of book recommendations. A few people asked me to share it, and it seems greedy not to. There were a lot, so I’ve put them in alphabetical order by author last name, and I’ll include some in each newsletter over the next few months. Disclaimer: I did only a very quick check of title and name spellings. There are multiple genres, spice levels, and age ranges, so some books might not be up your alley. I’m sharing in the hope you find a new favourite, but as I haven’t read most of them (yet), I can’t give you a summary. Good luck!
